A road safety leaflet will soon be sent home for the parents/carers of Reception and Year 6 pupils. Please take time to read through the leaflet and discuss with your child the ways in which they can be safer travelling to and from school and when they are out and about on the roads. We want children to have an active and healthy lifestyle and encourage walking to school but we want our pupil's to be as safe as possible. Wow -our school children really do have talent!
On Thursday 6th July the whole school, judges and staff were treated to an amazing St Joseph Got Talent show.
We had gymnastics, musical talent, singing, joke telling performances and even a dancing debut from a teacher!
It was a spectacular show and the worthy winner was Abby Elwell who was crowned our SJGT winner for 2017.
Well done to all our competitors – you were amazing! Thanks also to our wonderful judges too.
Our topic in RE this term is Islam. This week we visited Masjid -E-Aqsa Mosque on Fishwick Parade. The children were able to see first hand where Muslims go to worship and we talked about the similarities and differences between the Mosque and the Church.
For the first time in 15 years we are very excited to have the Scholastic Book fair at St. Joseph’s until 11th July at 3pm. The books range from £1.99 and are suitable for all age groups. Not only do we have books but also stationary, posters and pointers our target for school is to raise £300 , if we reach this target our school will receive £300 of books for our children to enjoy. Donations of books from the fair for school are gratefully received and you will have your name in the book and your picture taken for our book fair wall of fame. Also the year 5 children will be selling Ice pops and Ice cream to raise funds for their trip to Robynwood. Please come along and support our wonderful children.
