• Watch the video explaining how to use different speech verbs in your writing instead of using ‘said’. 
• Complete the worksheet below: Tuesday 12.1.21 English

Task:  Look at the word bank of speech verbs. Can you say what they all mean? Look up any that you don’t know.

Look at the 6 pictures on the sheet. For each picture write one thing that the character would say in that situation.

Don’t forget to include:

•           Inverted commas

•           An appropriate speech verb

•           Other punctuation that is needed

Challenge: Draw your own situation picture. Write a piece of speech to go with your picture.
