Today we finished our houses from 1666! The children were absolutely amazing, they showed so much determination and respect whilst building their houses. The children finished painting their houses white, created their roofs made of straw or wood and then managed to fit it all together independently. Mr Jimmy was very impressed with their tidying up skills as well! Thank you children and well done!

First of all thank you so much to the children for bringing in any spare cardboard boxes from home!

Today we have started stage 1 of creating our own houses by imitating the style of houses from 1666.

The children have used their cutting, sticking and painting skills today to create a 3D house from a cereal/ shoe box. Well done children, we will be completing these tomorrow!

This term we are going to be learning all about 'The Great Fire of London'. To explore how fast fire can spread we built houses on Pudding Lane and set them on fire to watch the fire spread. We discussed the materials that houses were built in 1666 and why they would not be safe materials to build houses with.

Thank you to Mr Wignall who came to help us burn 'Pudding Lane' down.
